You can upload a new version of your spreadsheet with new data or additional functionality. It is also possible to change the location of the source file. Example: you created an app with an Excel file from your computer but now you want the file to be synchronized with your dropbox.
Let's assume you have created an App based on an Excel Contact List from your Computer. Over time some entries have been added to the Excel file so your app is outdated. You have now different possibilities to update your app.

Update the source file of your app
You can upload the new Excel file in the Open as App Cloud and basically override the initial source file.
Be careful with updating the spreadsheet. If the structure of the new file is different from the file you created the initial app with, you have to make additional changes regarding the assignment in the app admin.
- Open your app in the web portal.
- Navigate to "Manage Data".
- Select "Update spreadsheet"
- You can now update the spreadsheet by pasting the link to an online hosted file. (See detailed information here: Change storage from Open as App Cloud to Dropbox.)
- or by uploading a new Excel file from your computer. (Click or drag & drop in the box.)
- Save the changes and update your app.
Change storage from Open as App Cloud to Dropbox
You have created the app with a file you uploaded directly from your computer and now your file ist hosted online in your Dropbox?
- Open your app in the web portal.
- Navigate to "Manage Data".
- Select "Update spreadsheet"
- Click "Edit url".
- Paste in the link of the online hosted file.
- Save the changes and update your app.

Change storage from Dropbox to the Open as App Cloud
You have created an app based on an Excel file hosted in your dropbox account and now you want to upload the file from your computer?
- Open your app in the web portal.
- Navigate to "Manage Data".
- Select "Update spreadsheet"
- Upload a new Excel file from your computer. Click on the paperclip to open the upload dialog (or simply drag & drop the Excel file in the box).
- Select the file on your computer and click "open" if you are using the upload dialog instead of drag & drop.
- Save the changes and update your app.
