With this release we introduce the Dropbox authentication and expand the possibilities to share apps created with Open as App. Two major features which we are happy to announce.
New
- Dropbox authentication. This option allows to block access to your app for users who do not have permission to view your spreadsheet hosted on Dropbox. Your app and the corresponding spreadsheet will be only available for users when they have an Open as App account and authenticate with their Dropbox credentials. Additionally, to inviting a user to your app you have to grant access to the spreadsheet via your Dropbox account.
- Send to a friend. Self-created apps can be shared more easily with friends and colleagues. In addition to Google App Invite you are now free of choice which channel you want to use for sharing your app (link) with others. Let the world know that you created an app out of your Excel spreadsheet!
Improved
- You can now take a look at the spreadsheet we use for a particular sample app in the wizard. The app's underlying Excel sheet can be accessed by clicking on the "View" button. For some of the sample apps we created tutorials for you. Feel free to check out the tutorials section in our help center: Tutorials.
Fixed
- You can switch between all pages in your app now without having to execute a calculation again. Your values stay saved and the elements are synchronized with your Excel spreadsheet again.
